“Waiting on” Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that highlights upcoming releases we’re eagerly awaiting.
I just finished the first of this trilogy, Ancillary Justice, and I liked it a LOT. I can’t stop thinking about it. Luckily for me, the sequel comes out next week, so I don’t have long to wait to keep reading about Breq, Seivarden, and others. It’s still going to be a long week.
I don’t want to spoil the first book, so here’s a vague description of Ancillary Justice from Goodreads:
Winner of the Hugo, Nebula, British Science Fiction, Locus and Arthur C. Clarke Awards.
On a remote, icy planet, the soldier known as Breq is drawing closer to completing her quest.
Once, she was the Justice of Toren – a colossal starship with an artificial intelligence linking thousands of soldiers in the service of the Radch, the empire that conquered the galaxy.
Now, an act of treachery has ripped it all away, leaving her with one fragile human body, unanswered questions, and a burning desire for vengeance.
Thanks to John Scalzi for recommending Ancillary Justice on Twitter. I would never have read it otherwise.
Ancillary Sword by Ann Leckie is out October 7, 2014.
